Guimarães - 1939. An artist with a 30 years career. His language - fragmented bodies, strong colours - comes from his African living, during military service, were he had contacted with the local paintings. That language stressed in his works from the beginning of the 70's, that same language has a supreme importance in the posterior esthetical development of José Guimarães' works.
