Metro station Oriente, Lisbon, Portugal 1998
Lisbon - 1912/1997. Joaquim Rodrigo started as an agronomist and turned to painting in 1950. Author of a book on the art's theory "O complementarismo da pintura", 1982. His first paintings are characterised by uniform backgrounds, opaque in ochre tons were appear images, objects of the artist's memories. The mural for the Oriente station (2,70 m x 12,5 m) entitled "Praia do Vau". This is his final work; he left specific instructions for Querubim Lapa to be responsible for its tile reproduction and application in the station
