Portimão - 1925. He attended Escola António Arroio, were he became a teacher later on. He had finished the special course of Sculpture of Escola de Belas Artes de Lisboa. He is a master in ceramics, having developed and recovering different tile techniques. He has a permanent studio in Viúva Lamego since 1954. In this project, tiles are different from the traditional size, they have 0,20 x 0,20 m. All the work is done by the artist himself. The techniques used are different according to the position of each motive. If the motive is placed very high, away from the view, the technique is different from the one used when the motive is close to the view.
