Barbaria, India - 1922. In 1939 studied painting in the Nagpur School of Art and the Sir J.J. School of Arts of Bombay. He is a founder member of the "Progressive Artists Group". From 1950 till 1953, he lives in France after receiving a scholarship from the French government. In this period he attended painting lessons at the Ecole Nationale de Beaux-Arts in Paris. Since 1959 Raza lives and works in Paris. For the Oriente station, Raza developed a subject related to the oceans. There we can find images that, according to the artist, are vital for the proposed subject: the sea, the air, the sun and the earth. These project shows "the vision of earth, the oceans, the light, the nature where all mankind breath as single family."
