The lamego widow joins artists,
in an unprecedented movement around culture
30 March 2020 - Today the movement Portugal #EntraEmCena is announced, an unprecedented collaboration between artists, brands, companies public and private in a collaborative effort to safeguard culture and its stakeholders at this critical time for the sector.
The movement Portugal #EntraEmCena takes the form of a digital marketplace, which will be launched in the coming days, where artists can launch ideas and obtain investment for the design and development phase, and where private and public companies can find talent and ideas proposed by artists and launch challenges to the development of new artistic projects, by choosing the ones you want to pay now.
Viúva Lamego thus joins a movement without a leader, with entities with a history of support and investment in culture, such as AGEAS, Agora - Culture and Sport of Porto, Altice, BPI - la Caixa, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Centro Cultural de Belém, EDP, EGEAC, Fidelidade, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Galp, Imprensa Nacional - Casa da Moeda, Millennium BCP, MEO, Montepio, NOS, New Bank, OPART - Production Organisation Artistic, Renova, Sagres, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, Superbock Group, Teatro Nacional de São João, Teatro Nacional D. Maria II and Vodafone. The movement relies on technical contributions from companies such as the Academy of Code, Casper, Hi Interactive, Lohad and Outsystems. It also has the institutional support from the Ministry of Culture.
Because Viúva Lamego wants to support the arts sector at this time, it will provide tools that enable artists to continue to develop projects, and generate income, which would not be possible otherwise.
Knowing that this moment is particularly hard for all those who have seen their sources of income cancelled or postponed, the starting point of this movement is that, from the collaboration generated from a digital platform, more investment will emerge for all the artists and technicians in the sector, applied to projects that can start already at this time, from home, or when we can be together again, or even later, in 2021.
Overall, this movement represents, at this moment, an investment of more than one million euros, through this platform, in projects limited to 20 thousand euros each. And many more entities will be able to join.
So that culture is not also a victim of the coronavirus, this transformative movement comes into play, which intends to guarantee the country's identity and cultural sustainability - now and always.
