André
Saraiva
André Saraiva is a Portuguese. He began his career in the 1980s, in the streets of Paris, when he began to paint on the walls of the city. In the early 1990s, Saraiva created an "alter-ego," Mr A - a cheerful, energetic, long-legged character with a round head and big smile who gradually invaded shop windows and subway stations all over Europe. As Mr A's travels reached a global scale, there were subtle changes in appearance and dress - a top hat, X-shaped eyes, wings, and even his feminine projection – adding depth to Saraiva's creation.
Never straying from his original artistic vision, André Saraiva has been exploring other artistic languages, such as installation, painting, screen printing, the creative direction of L'Officiel Hommes magazine and, more recently, video editing and short films.
